Westminster Court was a small complex of office premises with dedicated off road parking provision for 155 cars. The two / three storey brick-built offices and accompanying land was acquired by The Rutland Group to convert the existing office accommodation into 45 affordable residential units for Woking Borough Council.
The site is located on the northern side of the High Street (A247) and accessed off Hipley Street, at the western side of Old Woking and set in an established residential area. Permitted Development Rights were granted for the conversion of the existing offices, which sat on 1.65 acres of land. The £3.3 m re-development began in December 2014 and was completed in June 2015.
The total time from acquisition to occupation was under 12 months. A further 4 additional purpose-built flats were also constructed within the site boundary at the same time as the refurbishment, maximising the potential of the site.
